What is encryption?
Encryption protects data by scrambling it into an unreadable format. Learn more at kripti.com.
What does "end-to-end encryption" mean?
Messages are encrypted on your device and can only be decrypted by the recipient. No third parties, including Kripti, have access.
Are all of my messages encrypted?
No, only in enabled rooms and chats. Instructions are available at kripti.com.
What is Key Storage & Recovery Key?
Key Storage syncs chat history across devices, while a unique Recovery Key (e.g., EsTZ 4us6...) restores access if all devices are lost.

| On | Active | Recommended. Full access to chat history on new devices. Ability to recover account upon complete device loss. |
| On | Inactive | History syncs to new devices as long as at least one active session remains. Past chats cannot be decrypted if all devices are lost. |
| Off | Not Available | Maximum isolation. Keys never leave the current device. History synchronization with new logins is impossible. |
